Exhibition notes can be found here
Earlier work was shown extensively in thematic programmes of work - “Urban Cinema” and “Film on Art” which were toured nationally under the Arts Council's ‘Filmmakers on Tour’ scheme. Thematic programmes were an attempt to take a range of experimental work to audiences who would be unlikely to book individual films. The former programme, created jointly by myself and Tony Bloor was primarily composed of work being produced within Birmingham Film Co-operative, and a response to an urban environment. ‘Film On Art’ was one of several thematic programmes developed using work by the Independent Filmmakers Association, East Midlands. This programme received an encouragingly wide exhibition at venues, such as more traditional art galleries, which had no tradition of exhibiting films.
